Arrived in Paris in 1932, after having studied at the Fine-Arts school of Warsaw, the painter David Garfinkiel rejoins his predecessors of the « École de Paris » (Paris School) : Soutine, Krémègne, Kikoïne… In contact with these artists, and also with the great classical paintings of the Parisian museums, then impressed by the storm of World War II, Garfinkiel’s painting evolves.
